Amy Englund Mueller, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Director & Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional

25 years + counseling experience Amy Englund Mueller combines her education, experience, life knowledge, and professional trainings to best support children, teens, and families.

Amy Englund Mueller LCSW graduated from the University of California, Davis in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology-Organizational Psychology and a Bachelor of Art’s in Political Science.  Amy was active with student government, her community, and social justice movements, interning at the District Attorney’s office as well as a local law firm.   Amy then attended CSU Sacramento, earning a Master’s of Social Work- Mental Health in 1998 and completing an internship in County Mental Health.   Amy earned her License in Clinical Social Work in 2011 and continued her career with County Mental Health, working with children and families for optimal health and wellness, as an educational liaison for school based (IEP) mental health services, and in a leadership/supervisory role.  During this time, Amy obtained multiple awards and certifications in Evidenced Based Practices, to include Functional Family Therapy, Love and Logic, and The Incredible Years.

In 2011, Amy culminated her work with County services and transitioned to working for a major health care organization in Child Psychiatry.  During this time, Amy acted as the Training Coordinator for providers, interns, and collaborative parties, continuing to earn new certifications while promoting the learning of others.   Amy also concurrently established her private practice and enjoyed the diversification of working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families.  Amy is dedicated to supporting both the child and the family emotionally by helping with communication skills, tools for coping, and seeing the child as a whole person.
Two years ago, Amy earned one of her most favorite titles:  Integrated Health Practitioner.  Integrated health combines traditional medicine with functional medicine, considering both the surface level symptoms of a complaint, as well as diving below the surface examining what is at the root – environmental and lifestyle factors (such as sleep and relaxation), physical activity (exercise and movement), nutrition and supplementation, and stress.  Amy takes much pride and enjoyment in creating a unique “functional prescription” for each client, in conjunction with medications already prescribed, or as an alternative for those hoping to avoid pharmaceuticals, whether it is a physical health condition or a mental health condition such as ADHD, depression and anxiety.

Amy is a local professional who has been a lifelong resident of Placer County, however, loves to travel to new places and explore how different cultures heal from within.  Amy loves sports, both playing and watching them!  She is a foodie who loves to cook creative, yummy and prescriptive meals and treats. She prefers to be outside, enjoys sunshine over snow, and loves the beach.  Amy is fiercely passionate about her family and friends, including her fur baby who is a trained therapy dog!!!  A typical day for Amy always includes exercise, laughter, and a little dark chocolate.

The most important thing to Amy, as a healing professional, is the relationship she has with her clients and their families.   Amy will always welcome and care for you and your child, the way she does for her family and friends.  She will co-construct a treatment plan for you that respects your goals, values, interests and priorities.
