Roxanne Sherrill, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Roxanne Sherrill (Roxy), M.A., is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Ms. Sherrill earned both her BA and MA in psychology from Brandman University and also has a Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC) in school counseling.

Ms. Sherrill began her mental health career working with a variety of clients at a local non-profit agency while completing her master’s degree in psychology. Roxanne has worked in many different therapeutic settings and her clients come from diverse backgrounds.  She broadened her experience with crisis and trauma at Sutter Roseville and Sutter Auburn Faith hospitals in the Emergency Department as a Crisis Specialist.  She gained more experience and knowledge working with children and adolescents as a School-Based Mental Health Therapist while working for a local agency that placed therapists in schools throughout California. She conducted both group and individual therapy sessions and provided emotional support to children and teens at school to ensure their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Ms. Sherrill has worked in both Placer and Sacramento counties as a School Counselor working with students aging from pre-school to high school. Roxy also has experience as an Education Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) therapist in Placer County where she provided mental health services to elementary age students in individual, group, and family therapy. She also worked closely with staff and school district administrators to help educate and train teachers about best practices for supporting students in the classroom with social and emotional needs.  Prior to her career in the mental health field, Roxy served 11-years in the United States Air Force. Her time in service has given her tremendous experience and first-hand knowledge that is valuable when working with both military and first responder families and children.

Outside of her counseling work with children and families she is an avid traveler, Ms. Sherrill has enjoyed visiting dozens of countries all over the world. When she is not traveling, she enjoys gardening, taking walks with her dog, and crafting.
